Basil Chilli Beef (Pad Krapow – Thai Stir Fry at Home)

A bold and fragrant Thai stir fry with minced beef, chilli and fresh basil. Inspired by the classic Thai dish Pad Krapow, this version is adapted for home cooking — quick, simple and full of flavour. With Aharn Thai Premium Stir Fry Sauce, you can recreate this street food favourite in minutes.


Ingredients

• 3–4 tablespoons Aharn Thai Premium Stir Fry Sauce (add more for a stronger flavour)
• 200–250 g beef mince
• ½ cup green beans, trimmed and cut into 3 cm pieces
• ½ onion, sliced
• 2–3 cloves garlic, roughly chopped
• 1–4 fresh chillies, sliced
• Thai basil leaves


Optional additions

• Mushrooms
• Bamboo shoots
• Capsicum


To Serve

• Steamed jasmine rice

Pad Krapow is traditionally made with meat, chilli and basil, without added vegetables.

For home cooking, we include green beans and onion for balance and texture, while keeping the dish quick and simple.

Method

1. Prepare ingredients

Prepare all ingredients before cooking, as this dish comes together quickly.


2. Heat the pan

Heat a wok or frying pan over high heat until very hot. Add a small amount of oil.


3. Cook the beef

Add the beef mince and cook, breaking it up as it cooks, until browned and slightly caramelised.


4. Add aromatics

Add garlic and chilli and stir fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.


5. Add vegetables

Add green beans and onion, and stir fry for 1–2 minutes until just tender.


6. Add sauce

Pour in Aharn Thai Premium Stir Fry Sauce and toss to coat.


7. Finish the dish

Add Thai basil and stir through until wilted.


8. Serve

Serve immediately with steamed jasmine rice.

• Use high heat to achieve authentic stir fry flavour.
